"I am Ant Baena, I’m a graphic designer based in London. I was made in England & will be alive until I die... Up until that point I will be sat at my computer which is sometimes on a desk, sometimes its on my lap & other times its on the floor..." Ant Baena

The 'Taxes' I admire on this design. It gives the idea of something breaking or disintegrating. I could use this on my leaflet/poster because it does to me suggest something going down hill. Overall the whole poster gives this negative vibe. The 'Death' also has elements of darkness. It might just be the words used but I think the general type gives of a warning.

I am interested in the typefaces used and on the third photograph you can see a leaflet in the top left hand corner which has been sealed using a thin strip of card. I quite like this idea as its simple but must be really effective. My only worry would it be safe to send a letter/ leaflet with that wrapped around it. I would expect it to fall off and if it didn't then maybe its too hard to take off? I really like the typeface in the middle. It has a very ellegant look and style. Finally above you can see the 'Thank You' letter which has lovely illustrations. All of this work was done by Adam Haynes. I found it on the blog...

Ellesse Duncan Packaging Design.

I found this and decided to blog it as I liked the way its been closed mainly. Its quite a clever way of sealing something like a box or even a leaflet.

"The Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, or OEN, is a non-profit organization that provides a network of assistance and connections for entrepreneurs and investors in Oregon and the NW region. The new logo, reminiscent of a Chinese block cut, is a symbol of the knowledge and wisdom that “seasoned” OEN members pass on to the younger members. This people-focused approach is visually represented in the “OEN” letterforms..." -http://www.behance.net/gallery/OEN-Identity/58865
I'm not sure why I chose this. Its pretty bland and lifeless. I don't like it because visually its depressing. I guess the designer who ever they were were told to produce something straight and to the point so not to cause confusion? Maybe this is something I will have to bare in mind when creating my one?

Buinsness
I found this you artist from Singapore on a website called You The Designer which is rammed with different types of graphic design. I picked this particular reference because she's gone into so much detail with her mailshot. She has made Membership cards, Business cards, a letterhead and envelope. This designer goes by the name of Jiayi and is very secretiveabout herself wish I completely understand as she mentions she is still at school. Her work is brilliant. All she says about this piece is she wanted to give it a vintage feel.

I'm still unsure whether or not I actually want an envelope. Because of my new designers I might be able to make the leaflet an envelope too!
Here is a pretty bog standard template for an envelope.

If I decide to go along with this template all I have to do I make sure I have the right stock colours and a design that is legible for the post man. However I am tempted to go down this route...

Imagine that this was also a letter that had the address on the outside, and there was something that held it together so not to open in the post. Thats what I want to do. The letter IS the envelope. I found these leaflets for the Tate on http://designproject.co.uk/.

The website has lots of interesting refrence. I also found this-

These business cards have addresses on them and if you were to find this and post it, it would go back to the owner which I find quite conventional! In a lot of cases theres no point having an enelope. Obviously a large amount of the time an envelope is quite crucial as there might be a lot of important or even a lot of deeply private information but when it comes to this project. It almost seem so ideal! It means that other people can read and enjoy it when its being sent. If it in a pile of post and your flicking through it you might see it and be interested even if the letter isn't addressed to you. The envelop makes it secret and private and where as my leaflet is for the mass to read. Its a message and a warning.
