Alphabet Soup. "Stretch"

My word I have to respond to is 'Stretch'. During the first studio session I had to quickly make 10 boxes on a sheet of A2 paper and in 5 minutes fill each box with a letter that responded to Stretch. This was a good exercise as it got ideas going. By Friday I must have ten 15cmx15cm letters that respond to strecth. I am not aloud to use photoshop, illustrator, or any kind of program. It must all be done all on paper. We can use card or anything we want but it must only be black and white.

This typeface is called 'Memoriam' and I found it on Ilovetypography.com. To me it looks like these letters have been stretched. The wavy bits at the ends of the letters remind me of what happens when you stretch bluetack or chewing gum. The typeface in general has a royal, elegant style. It almost looks like old fashioned hand writing thats been blown up in scale.

For all my ten letters I am doing the letter 'R'. I chose 'R' because, to me, its a lot more interesting than most other letter. Especially when you compare it to the letter 'L' or 'I".  Theres a lot more happening in the letter, theres so much more you can play with.
