Design for Print// Secondary Research

I decided to take a step back from the, how else can I say, boring side of Design for Print! Looking at print costs is defiantly something worth having a bit of knowledge on but it really does take it out of you. I have decided to look at wonderful pieces of design where the stock makes the cake. These examples here I found and quite simple I adore them, the way embossing works for example is something I have to learn, techniques like this really make work stand out .

Above a a few really nice examples of what you can achieve when printing. I only know the half of it too, I look at what had been achieved by these guys and I honestly don't know how they have done it. I guess I know the embossing/ de bossing part but I am still not 100 % sure how its been done. I like the business cards by woodhouse. It is quite obvious how thats been done. The wood has simply been cut to size and then the wood has been stampes. Its examples like 'Britt Boyd. Design For Good'. So much is going on there it almost looks like the designer has spent 1 hour on just one card. This sort of work really gets me going. Its this sort of stuff I want t achieve in my work soon. Printing techniques is something I really must get a grip with.
