What Is Good// Promotional Poster Research

Promotional Poster Research

Matthew Lyons

I'm a big fan when it comes to Matt's illustrations. He cuts coloured pencil shapes out and scans them in where he then sets to work putting it all together. This is the sort of look I would love to get in my promotional poster. This or near enough! Earlier on in my blog I found a design that was made of of card and then photoshoped. If I combine the two, that being Matthew Lyons and the camping poster I could come up with something really interesting. I think I said before that I don't intend on cutting card out and scanning it in. I'd rather just work straight from Illustrator.

Dougie Hindson

Doug is a friend was a friend when studying at Brighton and his work is a great example of the road I want to go down with my promotional poster. Take the top example, I really like how the simple triangles are clearly tress, the feel it gives is very effective. What I;m trying to get at is simple shapes can make such a difference to your work. Look at the scale the mountain shapes give in the second example.
